Lingerie is commonly associated with visually appealing undergarments, although the origin of the word typically means any undergarment for male or females. It’s interesting to note all the different types of lingerie that are existent in today’s society. But what constitutes the term lingerie, and what should one expect from investing in such clothing?

It’s interesting to note that not all lingerie is considered to be provocative. Some lingerie is instead used to benefit the wearer- most commonly women. This is most evident in lingerie types such as the corset or girdle- either can help mold or shape a female’s body to their liking. This was often used in older times when dieting and diet pills were not as popular.
